Prof. Barbara Edewele Otaigbe is a Professor of Paediatrics who is very passionate
about the health and overall well-being of children. Her super specialty is
Paediatric Cardiology and she has made significant contributions in clinical
practice as well as academic research.
Prof. Otaigbe has over fifty publications in reputable medical journals which she
authored and co-authored, a proof of her medical prowess. Asides her academic
feats, she is a driven and spirited advocate for paediatric cardiac health and has
delivered several cardiac health awareness lectures across various conferences
and events.
Her desire and determination to improve healthcare for children is shown by her
tireless involvement in medical outreaches and setting up of a Foundation.
Presently, Prof. Otaigbe is a Consultant at the University of Port Harcourt
Teaching Hospital. She offers expert care to children with Congenital and
Acquired Cardiac Diseases, as well as general paediatric care.
